Wanted: Social Media Intern
Is it possible to use social media in a wholesome way? Show us! Tuwhiri is looking for a social media person. You will be looking after Twitter for Tuwhiri, and Instagram for Tuwhiri and Creative Dharma newsletter. And you’ll be assisting Tuwhiri on Kickstarter. Find more on this here.
Editorial board
Could you be interested in joining the Tuwhiri editorial board? This role of this board is to decide whether or not to do something, such as publish a particular book, or take a particular path. It will meet online three or four times a year.
Incidentally, two more books are due to be published during 2021, at least one of which will be funded through a Kickstarter appeal.
Love you
After being interviewed on Radio New Zealand by Kim Hill, Girol Karacaoglu’s Tuwhiri book Love you: public policy for intergenerational wellbeing was in the list of Unity Books 10 top best selling book for four weeks during March and April. Listen to this interview here.
Coming up: an event around the book Love you in Nelson in June. Get more info from Jack Santa Barbara.
There’s more on this book here – https://tuwhiri.nz/love you.
Creative Dharma, a newsletter
A Tuwhiri initiative, this newsletter goes out every second month. Subscribers were invited recently to pay for their subscription, with every $ received as subscription income to be given away. Find out more here.
New on our blog since the last newsletter
Tuwhiri received this message:
‘I’m interested in your name. What is the backstory to it, the whakapapa of the whakaaro that lead to its adoption?’
We understood this question as ‘what is the origin of the intention that led to its adoption?’.
Read our response in this blog post – ‘The whakapapa of the whakaaro that led to naming ourselves Tuwhiri’ – here.
Dharma book reading group
After a very successful Tuwhiri dharma book reading group, a second group will be going through What is this? Ancient questions for modern minds by Martine and Stephen Batchelor online together.
Timed for those in the USA/Canada/Caribbean/Central and South America, the first meeting will be in mid-September. There will be seven one-hour sessions, and the meetings will be facilitated by Scott Vradelis. For more information and to register send us an email.
